  • Harold began working at Fox Insurance in 1976 and immersed himself in the insurance field from that point on. He enjoyed working with his father who started the agency. Later, his sisters, Susan and then Beth joined them and it truly became a family business. Harold, Susan, and Beth formed a partnership in 1997, when their father retired. In 2012, Fox Family Insurance team combined forces with the Rossbacher Insurance team. He was affectionately referred to as "Big H," by his coworkers and he was a big force and competitor in his insurance work.

Harold had a big voice, a big laugh, and an even bigger heart. Everyone felt loved by Harold. He was often the first one to welcome others, and make them feel seen, known, and loved. He brought joy and life wherever he went with his booming voice, infectious laugh, and robust personality. When anyone was fraught with discouragement, fear, or confusion Harold always reminded them, "God has a plan." He believed this with all his heart, and fully surrendered his life to God’s plan. Even when that plan meant he would be leaving this world and going home to heaven in January of 2021.

No one was ready for Harold to go. He left a hole in this world that no one else can fill, because there is no one else quite like him. But the love Harold had did not come from him, but rather flowed out of deep love he found in his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Harold knew himself to be a sinful and broken man, who needed a Savior. But he also knew that, "For God so loved the world, that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16) In Jesus, Harold found forgiveness for every sin, and healing for all his brokenness. And he would want anyone reading this to know, that whoever you are, whatever you've done, "Jesus loves you." He would want you to know that Jesus died for you on the cross, with his arms open wide, to forgive all your sin, and heal all your brokenness, too. He would want you to experience Jesus' love and forgiveness the way he did, not just “someday” in heaven, but right now on earth.

Harold was deeply loved and although his absence is deeply felt, his legacy lives on through his sons, grandchildren, family, and countless others who were touched by his life. Though he is gone, we can still hear his loud, booming voice, assuring us that no matter what happens in this life, no matter how dark, or scary, or uncertain things may seem, "God has a plan."

The History of Fox Family Insurance

Family First

Fox Family Insurance has been a family run business committed to offering quality personal service since 1966. George Fox, Sr. started the company out of the living room of his home in Corry, PA. The agency has been successful over the years, soon outgrowing the family home, and requiring George to bring in three of his five children to work with him. The agency has always put customers first, desiring to work alongside clients to offer the best insurance plans to match their needs.

Dedicated to NW PA

Fox Insurance became dedicated to the communities in which it served in Northwestern PA, branching out into Ohio and New York. George retired in 1999, allowing Harold, Susan, and Beth to purchase the thriving agency.

George’s Legacy

George passed away in January of 2006, but the legacy he left lives on in his business, the lives of his family, and all who knew him.

Partners of Rossbacher
Insurance Group

The Fox Family auto, home, and business customers are now serviced by Team Rossbacher agents. Fox opened a new Medicare office in the Corry Jamestown Credit Union building, offering clients a convenient location with handicap accessibility to serve the numerous clients who have trusted them with their Medicare insurance plans over the years. The Fox Family partnership with Rossbacher, allows the Fox Family team to also serve the Medicare needs in the Rossbacher office locations of North East, Oil City, and Cranberry, Pennsylvania.

One of the Family

The company still stands by its original slogan developed by George Fox, Sr. many years ago. “At Fox Family you’re not just a customer, you’re one of the family.”
